The People Counter with Computer Interfac e (PCCI), an exciting new product from Watchman Electronics, is an electronic people counter specifically designed for retail stores. Since it is easily interfaced with a store's computer, the PCCI can be networked across a chain of retail operations.

Why is the PCCI a vital marketing and decision-making tool for every retail operation?

The PCCI is simple to install. It comes complete with its own installation software and instructions on extracting customer traffic data. The data can be collected across a chain of stores and consolidated at the corporate headquarters for analysis, graphing, management reports and decision making. Information is provided on:

• Sales conversion ratios (by combining sales information from the customers’ computersystem)

• Sales per customer - compared across stores

The PCCI data can be collected in four different ways, depending on your needs:

• Data can be collected from a single store through a (Microsoft Excel compatible) text file.
• Networked access across multiple stores by emailing a Microsoft Excel compatible file (offers no data security)
• Networked access across multiple stores with data security using secure Watchman software.

Standard People Counter

The Standard People Counter is a simple, stand alone unit which registers when a person enters a doorway. The count number is displayed on a LCD screen which can be easily reset to zero by pressing the reset button at the back of the unit.

This unit uses Passive Infrared (PIR) technology to detect a change in heat between room temperature and body/skin surface. Since there is no beam or a "magic eye,” it does not require a reflector to complete the circuit.

The Standard People Counter is used most commonly in stores, museums, libraries, parks and office receptions to count the number of customers and visitors. This product monitors people traffic and assists stores in calculating important data such as sales conversion ratios, effectiveness of advertising and determining employee staffing.

The counter is a reliable, dependable industrial grade product designed to last for years with little maintenance. It operates on four standard AA batteries or a 9-volt DC power adapter that is available at any local hardware or electronics store. The batteries have a normal life of 8 to 12 months, depending on the frequency of people traffic and length of use.

Wireless People Counter

The Wireless People Counter is virtually identical to the Standard People Counter except that the LCD display is a separate unit. It can be located in a back office up to 90 feet away because the extension display unit is wired to the sensor unit. The count can be reset to zero by pressing the reset button on the remote display unit.

The wireless version, which uses 433 Mhz radio frequency wireless technology has a range of about 150 feet.

Outdoor People Counter

The Outdoor People Counter is similar to the Standard People Counter except that it is operated only by battery. It is housed in a sturdy insulated weather resistant case making it ideal for any cold or warm weather outdoor venue. It is widely used in national parks, zoos and other outdoor entertainment settings.
